Eight and Forty News from Eva Aulston
Eight and Forty (8/40) is one hundred percent American Legion Auxiliary. We are not in any way affiliated with the 40/8 organization.
Every Partner in 8/40 is first and always an American Legion Auxiliary Member. If we become delinquent in membership dues or leave the auxiliary, we are removed as a Partner. We are Partners because we have shown the ability to work, lead and enjoy. Our goal is to help the American Legion Child Welfare Fund, by raising funds for children with respiratory diseases.
As such, we support the National Children Hospital, in Denver, Colorado. Each year, this hospital invites us to attend the hospital and show us where our funds are used or needed. I will attend in April.
As our Members here in Alaska are so far apart, it is hard to gain Partners.Yet we have a number of outstanding workers. Do not feel that you cannot be invited or that you have to attend our meetings. Our dues are $8 per year, after you have 36 consecutive months as a auxiliary member prior to date of application.
I will be glad to sponsor any member for partnership in 8/40, if they meet the above.
After you receive the application, your Unit President and Secretary will have to sign and address the services you have rendered to the American Legion Auxiliary on the application. I have been a Partner for 27 years.
This is the second time I have served as National Western Division La Demi Chapeau, and there is no expense account that comes with it. But the numbers of friends I have made, plus the fun covers it all. Contact me if you would like to apply as for Partnership. Your Unit knows my address.
