Finally: a comprehensive list of resources
for military families...all in one place. Do you know a military family in need of free lawn care and landscaping? How about a deployed servicemember who could use temporary foster care for their pet? Wondering where to find scholarships for military spouses or pro bono legal aid for veterans? Looking for ways to help military children cope with a parent's deployment? These are just a few of the more than 100 resources you'll find on the brand new Gateway to Services on the American Legion Auxiliary's Web site. The Clearinghouse Committee, part of the ALA Strategic Planning team, has worked diligently with National Headquarters staff and an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer to introduce this exciting, new online place for servicemembers, military families and fellow Auxiliary members to find the services and support they need--all in a one-stop shop. We hope you are as thrilled as we are that the ALA's investment in strategic planning has visibly paid off with this "beta version" of Gateway to Services, the first launch of an ALA initiative that will certainly grow and change with new technology. We invite you to check it out! Explore Gateway to Services by clicking here. There you will find resources for: Family, Community, and Social Support Health and Wellness Career, Training, and Education Financial and Legal Support Now you can help, too!
